A common type of arthritis that happens to the knee is known as osteoarthritis of the knee and is  also known as degenerative joint disease. It affects the older parts of the body where it hurts the most. If a person affected by osteoarthritis may lead to cardiovascular diseases, because the weakness and breakdown of articular cartilage of knee joints restricts  movement and the patient become weaker and he has to take a lots medicines and it also affects the lifestyle of the patient.

How Osteoarthritis Develops ??

The exact reason of Osteoarthritis is still unknown, but as a final, science discovered that the repetitive movement (also known as “wear and tear”) of the joint is the main reason for osteoarthritis. It can also occur as the result of an injury or the other factor is the erosion of cartilage which covers the ends of the bones.

The function of cartilage is to act like a shock absorber, allowing the joints moving smoothly. If cartilage erosion occurs, the bone ends become thicker and the joint may lose its normal shape, and the final result will be collision of two joints each other and leads to pain. Because of damaged joint tissues can cause the release of certain substances called “prostaglandins” which gives a swelling characteristics to the disease.
